Sipping on our Elton Vineyard Chardonnay as we wait for Spring to arrive.

"The 2019 Chardonnay Elton Vineyard is fresh with wet stone, lime zest, and Bose pear. We cannot talk about Temperance Hill Vineyard without mentioning the passion that Dai Crisp brings to farming. Managing the vineyard since 1999, the assurance of utmost care for each vine in every vintage is indisputable, and not to be taken lightly. Our wines from the site speak loudly to this, and carry a bit of Dai in them.

At Lavinea, excellence leads as we partner with incredible sites in the Willamette Valley.

To deeply understand a vineyard, you must learn about its past - around 10,000 years ago!

A volcanic eruption of Mt. Hood deposited the top twenty-four inches of a distinct layer of well-drained silt loam to the Tualatin Estate Vineyard. This uniquely allows any excess topsoil moisture to drain away from the vine's feeding roots - a great feature for rainy vintages such as 2013.

Below the topsoil layer is deep Jory clay, which has good water retention capacity to sustain the vine during drought conditions. A perfect balance to produce world-renowned grapes.
